  2.   This directory contains a little program to give out random phrases to 
  3. advise inform and annoy you.  The program is a simple implementation of 
  4. the UNIX "fortune" program, at the moment the text file that it runs from 
  5. has too few sayings to keep the user interested for very long.
  6.  
  7.   This is the second version of fortune, it now includes the ability to 
  8. send the text to the narrator.  There appears to be a bug that does not 
  9. release the library and device once they have been opened, this might be 
  10. fixed.

  12.   The code is simple enough that for me not to put much extra 
  13. documentation in here, read the code to see how the program works.
  14.  
  15.   The simplest improvement would be to extending the data file.  If you 
  16. do improve the program I would be pleased to get an updated copy.  As 
  17. normal if you send me code tell me if I can put it on the next NorthC 
  18. release disk.
